I am a Rn who previously worked on a cardiac floor at a hospital. I actually now work for a health and wellbeing company that supports plant based diets and disease prevention. I have seen firsthand how people lower bloodstream pressure, improve heart health, lose weight, and lower A1c with lifestyle management including a and so are diet and exercise. As significantly as the expense of fruits and vegetable, I see many people who pay 0-0 a month for preventable diseases such as coronary heart disease and type 2 diabetes. I'd rather pay a little more for real foods.
Yesterday my coworkers had a surprise birthday celebration potluck for me personally at work. As Registered Nurses who work for a well being company, I would think that a few of the food would be healthy, however we had noodles, fried chicken, cake, and goodies. These days I feel like I have a food hangover. It was challenging to wake up, even 2 hours later than I have been getting up and my belly feels bloated. I want to remember this experience, because when I question which i am making the right choice, I want to think about how precisely good my body feels on a and so are diet and how I no extended have a feeling of fatigue throughout the day. I make the dishes for myself and my husband, however he sometimes adds a chicken to the meal. I have seen that he is slowly and gradually transitioning away from the adding animal proteins and even takes plant based meals for lunch.
I am so excited to find a very easy to follow plan that includes an introduction by Dr. Dean Ornish. Dr. Ornish is a name that I actually respect and I know that he know is committed to bettering coronary heart health. The book is so easy to read and Marco Borges provides real stories about people who have made the change, difficulties they confronts, and how it transformed their lives., The guide is a little complicated to follow. The recipes are not the best. I create my own and they are way better rofl.
I even ordered the 22 days and nights of food delivered to my home and they were all basically the same taste. Tons of zucchini, carrots and onion.
I followed the 22 days, working away 1 to 1 0.5 hours daily, 6 days and nights a week (which I actually have been doing for years now), and eating the meals I received delivered from the same company, with a few changes (got tired of zucchini and carrots so I replaced with plain quinoa or plain lentils) I bought lunch and dinner and am did the breakfast and snacks based on the book.
I actually was trying to loose 3-5 lbs as I'm 5'75 135 lbs but always felt better once i weigh around 130.
Not only I actually didn't lose any weight but I felt fat every day. Not certain if it was obviously a essence they use on their meals or just too many beans and lentils.
Hope it works better for everyone else. I had high hopes., Someone help me answer this. We are starting this with a pal and we are incredibly confused about the portion sizes. One day one it asks to make 1 cup of lentils and 1 cup of quinoa (which at home cooks out to about 3 cups each) and eat all that for lunch?! That may be so much food! We were both full after 1/3 of the dinner. Then for dinner, it was 2 cups of walnuts processed into a fake " taco various meats. " Again, that is a great deal food and we were full after 1/3 of that serving. What are other people/woman doing? The recipe doesn't give providing sizes, so how much is one meal? We all are both women, so should we cut many of these ingredients in half?
Thank you for any insight., Too many repetitive chapters to make a simple message. Furthermore too many testimonials that make the same point., Excellent advice and very complete. Has personal, relatable tales. I wish I had hard copy and not kindle fire because I reference dishes and have to book mark every page., Great guide! Straightforward and makes sense. I wish that the recipes included serving dimensions. Some of them you can guess, but others not really. While learning so much about feeling full and eating healthy the last thing I want to deal with is guessing a serving size or questioning easily will have enough, or too much, for my family., I surpassed the 22 day challenge with the help of this book. Yummy recipes inside!, good book
