Arguably the best action games series for PC, Splinter Cell was due to get a latest addition in Q4 of 2008. Developers Ubisoft have announced that the game will now be shipped in its fiscal year 2009-10. In a financial statement released earlier, Ubisoft made the announcement.

Developers have expressed regret about the decision but are expecting support from game enthusiasts. A plus point of postponement is that Ubisoft will get some extra time to work on the game and try to make it even better. It is understood that Ubisoft has taken the harsh decision to escape from a tough season-ending and starting the new season on a fresh note.

Fiscal year for Ubisoft ended on March 31 and the developer was expected to make a press release of financial statement when the news broke. The game has been shifted from 2009 to 2010 for its own good, as the developer is saying. But, the game has already been delayed so many times that a few more months is okay. Gamers are expecting the game to finally release in the announced quarter.

The game will be available for both PC and Xbox 360 platforms, when released. Ubisoft promises that the game will test your skills of being hidden. The stealth action game will be a perfect competition for Assassin’s Creed II and Mafia II. Looks like that Sam Fisher will be making his way to console market next year, finally.
