Lesson 2 : Select Database, search and view results by CSE Online tools
1.
MMDB contains 3D macromolecular structures, including proteins and polynucleotides. Search by keywords such as author names(eg: “Thanh N. Truong”) , or text terms occurring anywhere in the structure description. Click on a hyperlink to choose tools to view data.
2.
3D Domains are compact structural domains identified automatically in MMDB, Entrez's macromolecular three-dimensional structure database. Search by keyword(eg: H5N1).
3. The
Nucleotides database is a collection of sequences from several sources, including
GenBank?,
RefSeq?, and PDB. To search by keyword and nucleotide sequence (eg:CTATGC).
4. The
Protein database has been compiled from a variety of sources, including
SwissProt?, PIR, PRF, PDB, and translations from annotated coding regions in
GenBank? and
RefSeq?. To search by keyword and protein sequence (eg: AAGL)
5.
PubChem Compound: Search unique chemical structures using names, synonyms or keywords. Links to available biological property information are provided for each compound.
6.
PubChem Substance: Search deposited chemical substance records using names, synonyms or keywords. Links to biological property information and depositor web sites are provided.
7.
PubChem BioAssay: Search bioassay records using terms from the bioassay description, (eg: "cancer cell line"). Links to active compounds and bioassay results are provided. Click on a hyperlink to view further data
